Wildlife Trust Congo

Who we are

We are a wildlife conservation charity organisation in Democratic Republic of Congo, dedicated to preserve and protect the natural world and its wild habitats. We recognise that sustainable conservation can only be achieved through a community-based collaborative approach.
DRC is known to be the most important country in Africa for biodiversity conservation. It has the highest number of species from all most group of organisms.
The country gives a shelter to a spectacular endemic species such Gorilla, bonobo…
Most endemic species, found their habitats in the eastern part of the country where militia, rebel groups still operated freely, driving the extinction of those species.
Here, at Wildlife Trust Congo, we believe that the protection of those endemics’ species become a matter of utmost importance. that is why we had initiated to ask the Blue Shield to incorporate those endemics species into the natural assets to be protected from extinctions.
